Working Environment: Three workstations, Final Cut

Specializing in national TV commercials, feature films, viral videos for web and industrial videos, Red Productions is a full service, script to screen video production and independent film development production company.

Featuring an impressive client roster of several well-known organizations and brands such as Coca Cola, the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Christian University, Red Productions couldn’t expect to maintain its steady business growth if it continued to experience project delays from frequent freeze ups during editing sessions and having to locate footage across multiple external drives.

Red Productions streamlined workflow across its three editing workstations with the installation of Small Tree’s Ethernet-based GraniteSTOR unique OS X networking technology, which supports multiple Ethernet ports tightly integrated with Apple’s built in file sharing system, AFP. Consisting of Small Tree’s PEG6, a 6-port Ethernet card, and Edge-corE ES4528V, a 28-port Gigabit Ethernet switch certified to work with Small Tree’s technology, GraniteSTOR has eliminated the freeze up and file locating difficulties Red Productions was having with its external drives. As a result, the new shared storage system has decreased post-production downtime substantially while enhancing the creative process dramatically.
